Police recover alcohol bottles stolen from Handhufushi resort

haveeru
The Maldives Police Service has recovered a large percent of the alcohol bottles that were stolen from the Handhufushi Resort and Spa managed by Yacht Tours and returned it to the resort.

According to officials from the Addu Police Station, 26 of the 44 alcohol bottles that were stolen from the resort bar last Sunday had been found inside a sack hidden in the woods of the Maafishi region of Hulhudhoo. Hulhudhoo is located on the same island on which the Handhufushi resort is. Police officials said that the recovered bottles had been handed over to the resort on Monday night.

Police said that no one had been arrested in connection to the theft yet, but that they were still continuing with the investigation. Police officials also refused to comment on whether they believed if the theft had been an inside job or by a group who had sneaked into the resort. However, reliable sources have told Haveeru that the theft was an inside job committed by some of the staff members working in the resort.
