The people of Hulhudhoo who went to the arrival of the Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) leader showed anger and called the leader who is also the government caretaker to resign from the government. The Haama Daily reporter present at the arrival, reports that some people gathered to the arrival of Gayoom with megaphones shouting their rejection and Maldives Police Services tried to shun the crowd who opposed the DRP leader.
“There were around 20 DRP supporters but the rest who gathered before the arrival of the DRP leader was of Republican Supporters.” Our correspondent said that every one pushed back with brute force if they breathe a word opposing the DRP leader. He also said that police reinforcements were also arrived in a speedboat to the island before the arrival of the DRP leader though there had been no confrontations from the opposing crowd.
